Default Turf Mode Upgrade?

Would it be possible to add turf mode to a trans without turf mode? I find myself on pavement at least 50% of the time and I would really like turf mode.

Thanks!

Not possible, it's a different tranny.

I'm pretty sure the Turf Mode is a function of the rear differential, not the transmission. And anything is possible but it probably wouldn't be cheap. At a minimum you would most likely have to replace the entire rear diff with a turf mode model along with the wiring and switch and possible other components, axles ect. This is just off the top of my head and I have by no means researched it.

Truf mode is a function of the rear diff, not the tranny. depending on the bike you have it would be possible. Would be easiest on the 800 EFI. Not to say it would be easy, or cheap, but it probably could be done by swapping out the diff for one out of an 800 EFI X2.
Having said that turf mode is pretty annoying on pavement it has a tendency to spin the inside wheel when you are cornering at speed. Probably one of those things that sounds better than it is. I thought I would really miss turf mode and my dump bed when I moved from my ATP to my Sportsman 800 EFI. Not so much really, the monster HP of the 800 makes up for it! Turf mode is only available on X2 and touring models which have a one piece transmission and rear diff. The standard 800 has seperate components,so if you want to chop your frame and extend it to accomodate the longer tranny then I guess it is possible.

It's a feature that I really wish they would have added to their new 09s. It's already useful on the longer wheelbase machines and it would be even better on regular models.

Plumbob,
Really, I figured it was the same deal as the ATP with a seperate Diff and tranny.
My bad!
