carb help on '03 sp 500 HO

Default carb help on '03 sp 500 HO

i need to remove the carb to clean it, how do i remove the choke and throttle cables from the carb. i have everything else disconnected. any other tips, this is my first time going into a carb.

NOT necessary to remove cables! Just pull out carb far enough to be able to remove float bowl. Clean main jet and small pilot jet,check needle valve assy( if original probably time to replace) small pin hold float arm,remove pin,float arm,2 small screws and plate hold needle valve assy. Can reuse gasket,BUT if going to that trouble,replace it! Usually this all that is needed to get running. There is a diaphram/slide assy,along with slide needle,but USUALLY dont have to touch. YOU may have to LIFT tank up a little to get better access. Good luck
