slapping sound behind the clutch case

slapping sound behind the clutch case
My 1996 425 Magnum 4x4 just started making a slapping sound behind the clutch cover. I'm not much of a wrench, but I'm thinking that maybe the belt is making the sound? Much of a job taking the cover off, and replacing the belt? Comments?

You will not have to remove pully if you see the problem is the belt while you rev it up in neutral.
