We went down to the dealer and he sold us the four oils. The front, rear, motor and the 'transfercase' oils. Plus the air and oil filters.
We cant figure out where how to change the transfer case oil on the '08 Sportsman 700 X2. We just did the 25hr service on a Ranger XT and that sure had one. We just can't find the transfer case on the Sportsman.
Did the dealer sell us something we didn't need??
thanks in advance...

you dont have to change all the lubes on the first service unless you want too. if theres no rear end fluid then what do you use. READ YOUR MANUAL and see what it says and ill tell you where the drain plugs are. on models w/ adc you use prem. LT fluid and there is a seprate oil for the adc.

Make sure (double check) that you have the LT oil for the front end. The ADC need the LT oil (Check your owners manual) Many dealers screw this up. The regular front diff oilo can destroy the ADC. Also, check your air filter before you replace it, it should still be clean.
I have a 500 X2 and only had three oils to change on the 25 hours. The engine oil, the transmission (rear) and the the front Diff (LT oil).
I am a newbie and found this to be very easy (thanks to this forum)

Just be sure your manual is up to date, my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 700 manual was wrong as to how far to fill the rear differential and there was an insert in the paperwork not in the manual showing how to make a "tool" (bent wire" to check the level and to show the proper fill level.
