Default loss of power

I am trying to find out why my 06 hawkeye dies off at a mid range speed (about 23 mph). I have tried a number of things that I have read in these forums, but nothing seems to work. The only thing that I have found so far is that by cutting the air flow it seems to run better. Any help on this would be great.

sounds like your jets are way too big in the carb maybe flooding it out. have you recently changed airfilters or messed with the main jets

Im not sure about the updates, I got it second hand. I bought a new plug and did the oil change. The old plug was slightly carboned but nothing out of the ordinary.

I've heard of the airbox....may not have enough breather holes or they are too small. My bud's Hawkeye did this and no problem after the airbox mod. There may be some rubber plugs you can pop out and try. Maybe....

more air seems to make it run bad, if I cut the air back it seems to run better, good idea though. I will see if there are any rubber plugs that come out and see if that helps. thnx
