Default awd help

i have a 05 800 sportsman twin. In rev. 4wd did not work when i got the 4 wheeler.. Yesterday i went mudding and 4wd stoped working. I set it up on blocks and the front drive line turns in 2wd and in 4wd but the front tires will not turn at all. can anybody help with this. also i think i have a cv joint going out in back right tire. need help with this too.

Just checking that you know that in 4wd does not work in rev - unless you are holding/pressing the rev overide switch. I assume you know that, but can't hurt to double check.

(You can override this function - I did as I do a lot of plowing)

Another simple thing is that perhaps your issue is electricial. Take a look at the 2wd/4wd switch - ensure the molex plug is seated properly, perhaps take it out and clean. I have an 00 SP and and 08 SP (800) - had issues with these switch plugs. I would suggest to first look at electrical

As far as the right rear joint - why you think it is going out?

Most of the problems on the earlier front gearcases I've seen are roller cage damage and seal leakage.

chances are if the awd light is on and no awd then the cage is the issue. imo.

John Deer has a stronger metal one that works, you can look up the part # at High Lifter,s web site they seem to use those once the cheap polaris plastic cages explode.
