please help

Default please help

i have a 2006 polaris sportsman 500 ho. i cleaned the carb out and now it will start buy i have to give it gas and keep giveing it gas. it doesnt sound like it did befor i cleaned the carb. whenever i let go of the gas it dies and right before it dies it backfires. any ideas what i need to do to get my baby back up and running. thanks

also my master cyclender is leaking is that just a rubber gasket i need to replace

are the floats set right
and try adjusting the fuel/air screw

Default please help

Make sure throttle slack about 1/8" slack or can die also! Master cylinder piston and seal kit available,but need installation tool to keep from damaging seal. IF talking about leaking around top bowl as many I've seen do,remove cap,clean corrosion/dried fluid around grooves in top bowl,keep fluid level slightly LOWER than full mark on inside bowl.

if i never messed with the screw do you think i should start now or what. i just pulled the spark plug and its black and wet what does that mean.

if the plug is black and wet its running too rich (too much fuel entering cylinder). maybe your airfilter is dirty and not letting enough air through?

i was let it run with air filter off i ahve to keep it ideld aliitle or it will die.

try adjusting the screw that will lean out the fuel mixture, because if the plugs black and wet you have too much fuel

Sounds like pilot jet has some blockage to me.
