Default 03 700 sp burning coolant??

working on my dads 700 sportsman. it eats a little coolant, but its not in the oil, never has been. it's coming out of the breather into the airbox. thought it was the head gasket so i replaced that, but its still happening. could it be a bad base gasket, a cracked head, or a cracked jug??

cracked head is more likely. sounds like it getting into the intake valve and shooting back into the carb.

did a compression test. both sides were around 90psi as i cranked on it. that doesn't seem all that great. tore the engine down. base gasket didn't look real good. will check the head again for cracks.

90psi is normal because those motors have a decompression for starting. so until it actually starts it stays anywhere from 80-95psi
