Default Rectifier regulator am I in trouble.

I have an 04.5 polaris 700 efi. I recently was on a trip and had the fan stop running. After changing to a brand new fan I realized it was not the fan problem. I did some research and a little testing.......then I saw the smoke rolling out of the rectifier regulator. I called the local polaris dealer and I will be picking a new one up for $104.

I guess I have two quesions Is there anywhere else I can get this part? Is there any other thing that might have caused this problem? I do keep my wheeler on a battery tendder during off season.

Any help you guys can give would be appreciated.

Try ricks motorsports electrics. If part # 10-558 is the right one it is $80.

Was the rectifier charging the Battery? I just went through hell with my rectifier on my 05 800. It ended up being a grounding problem. When you put the new on on i would check the grounds, put an ohm meter on the ground wire from the rectifier and measure it to ground. If that wire grounds to the same spot as my 800 than it will be on the frame just under the left side of the seat. Did your Fan quit because of low voltage from your Battery?
