330 Magnum Electrical Issues
#1
I need some electrical help.
I have a 05magnum 330
It has started off that it would not start. (After riding with no problems 2 weeks ago). So I charged the battery. Then it still would not start. So I decided to clean all the cables and connection to the battery and solenoid.
Now as soon as I connect the battery the fan starts to run. Even though everything is off, (key is in the off position and the switch is in the off position) I had the problem of when the key was on, the fan was on. But the fan cut off when I cut the key off.
But back to the starting issue. I tried to start it after cleaning the connections. It clicked once or twice. Now I am not getting any power to the speedo display. or much less anything from the starter.
I am really at a loss for where i need to start, any suggestions would help.

Check any fuses that may be on the machine, thats a good place to start, after that i would suggest following the wires along the machine, unless they are ran through the frame or something you should be able to tell where they are heading, also taking a look at an electrical diagram for it would not be a bad idea, try to compare the diagram with what you have. I maybe really simple minded because i have an old 300ex that is very simple. Hope it helps some

Sounds like something im going thru on a trail boss 330. Charged battery and everything was dead except what sounded like the fan going. No lights on nothing would run. Had a buddy check it out, and as he replaced electrical components, still had the same problem. Figured it was the charge regulator, but then once he replaced that and had it running, damm thing started smoking. Burned out that part. so now back to square one, still cant figure it out.

Checked all that, everything was good. Just may sell the damm thing,</end quote></div>
dont sell it because your fustrated , it will only make you a better person leter.
Now , I just want to ask ya if you tried looking at the actual key switch , polaris is known for this and its the last thing riders check , make sure your connections are getting contact from your key switch and then go from there.
