Default stator check

Could someone tell me how to check the stator on a 1999 335 sportsman.I have read alot or the other problems of no fire and mine sounds like everybodys elces. No fire, new plug, replaced coil, I am not sure what a cdi is? Is it the little black box beside the coil ?

the cdi is like the brain box. most likely(just a guess) its a bad cdi more then anything. it would be nice if you could find a used one to try as it wouldnt be cheap to buy one. imo

i would agree with stendori on this. just becouse last year i went through this with a sled changed the stator coils and turned out to be the cdi. anyway my manual says the primary is 0.3 ohms plus, and secondary is 5000ohms (cap) good luck

CHECK stator specs before buying a 200 dollar CDI. Process of elimination without buying parts that maybe aren't bad! Good luck

If you cant get specs from other members,I will look up Tuesday at work,BUT usually trigger coil(white and red/white wires) that plugs in to cdi should be around 97 ohms? plus or minus 20% Cant remember colors on charge coil, either red and red/black OR green, depending on models. Think should be around 440ohms resistance plus or minus 20%. Set meter to ohms and check each pair and check wires to ground,IF any wires shorting to ground, then may have found problem. Also brown is ground on Polaris.
