matching up different carbs

will a 1999 carb work for a 1996 polaris sportsman 500 bothe are 500 sportsmans

I just checked Polaris parts online http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp and they're different. They have different main jets and pilot jets. A lot of the other parts look the same.

Probably so, at the worst you may have to rejet.
