Default Rev Limiter Question

I have a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500HO 4x4
My machine is cutting out during idle, reverse and forwards gears. If I press the reverse override button it solves it.
I think I am having a electrical problem. I have no neutral or reverse lights on the pod. The reverse light doesn't even come on with the reverse override button pressed. I think the cooling fan is also not coming on.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Where should I begin my fix? I'm not looking to unhook the black wire from the CDI box. I would rather fix the problem than bypass it.

Thanks for any help.

Default Rev Limiter Question

Could possibly be one of the two switches on transmission,if not showing gear position on speedo causing false signal and triggering limiter, SPEEDO ITSELF may be bad,or limiter module when you push override button and runs ok! first check under pod for module with black wire and disconnect this wire, see if runs ok,but probably wont help gear position problem on speedo, this can be either switch or speedo as posted above,as far as fan not coming on,disconnect fan connector, check with 12 volts to see if fan works,if does then possible radiator sensor bad. Hope this helps you to get started! opt

Default Rev Limiter Question

There was broken wire under the hood near the headlight pod. Fixed the wire it solved the problem.
