Look, in a few of the other gazillion threads you've started about this, you say YOU have a 400. Any YOU are waiting for parts. In fact, YOU thought about the 500 Scrammy after riding your dads Sportsman. YOUR own gallery says your waiting on a chip.

Either figure out what you have, what you want and what you're gonna do, or stop wasting space here.</end quote></div>

A stock 400 has the same exact HP as a stock 500 H.O. according to Polaris, and only 1/2 HP more according to Aaen, not a lot more power like some people think. It's a lot quicker because it a 2-stroke and most people will mod them to some degree and then it will stomp the 500.

I've come to the conclusion he wants one, but doesn't have one. Maybe a friend of his does. And to find all the contradictions he's making would mean looking at 10 different threads.

Polairsboy, here's your chance. Tell the truth. Lots of people here won't mind giving you suggestions, but stop saying one thing in one thread, then something completely different in another, only to say you never said either in a third.

Honesty is the best policy. Especially if you don't want to be banned from the forums.

I was aware that they made the HP numbers for the engines comparable (Didn't know they were that close, though)- good eye!

The key is - You need to go to Stage 5 (Porting, High comp piston, Cam, Valves, Carb, Exhaust) on the 500 just to gain 10 hp. With the 400, you can gain 10hp with only an exhaust.

For some reason, Polaris likes to bottle up their 2 strokes. The 250 (Trailboss & Trailblazer) can gain 20% more power with only an exhaust.

At any rate, 2 Strokes rev faster and accelerate faster because every revolution is a power stroke, compared to every other with a 4 stroke.
2 strokes also weigh less (Not a huge factor, but rotating mass does count). The only doen side is that jetting is more sensitive with a 2 stroke - it needs to be adjusted with the seasons.
