Default 3 light mod for 800 sportsman

Has anyone checked how many amps all three lights pull when on. I just got my charging system up and running and thinking about doing the light mod. Just dont want to over load the charging system. Has anyone had any problems with it? I use my winch a lot plowing snow. The charging system seems to keep up but dont know with three lights running if that will change.

if you winch and run the lights it will probably start to tax the stator. your lights may dim when using the winch but other than that should be ok to run.

If you are going to be doing alot of plowing I would do it using the relay style, because it doesn't draw near as much

personally if if it was me i wouldnt use all threee head lights while your plowing as it add that much draw on the charging system. it only puts out like 500 watts reved up i do beleave. imo.

Do you plow snow so fast you need to see farther down the road? I've had the 3-light mod on several quads and plowed snow with a few of them but use low beam only most of the time. No problems yet. Mine were all 500s.

Using a relay don't reduce the load it just doesn't put it all on the headlight switch.
The relay is used to help protect the light switch nothing more.
