Default plowing and winch rope

with my front brushguard on my winch rope rubs my bumper, and last year I put a piece of rubber belting over it so it wouldn't rub, but eventually the rope broke,
would there be anything wrong with making an extended fairlead, that would put the rope out past the bumper
any other ideas are welcome

thanks in advance

I have tons of clearance from my brushguard to my winch rope...... Oh I see now you have a warn plow, I would make some sort of a deal that is on the plow that keeps the rope away from the brush guard. Like a mini pully with a 6 inch rope attached to the plow blade at the top, run your winch rope through the pully and it should change the angle enough to stop your problem.

You could just put a V shaped roller on the bumper where the rope wears against it.
Why do you guys use rope instead of cable? more length ? Just wondering.

its stronger overall, and plus if it breaks it doesn't build up kinetic energy so it won't lash out if it would break like steel cable would

Thanks 700 sportsman,
How much stronger is it than cable? I understand the safety aspect!

Can you put a spacer between the winch and the fairlead? A steel bracket maybe?
