Default Moose County Plow 60"

Hey guys,

Just took the 50" city blade off and installed a 60" County blade. It looks HUGE compared to the old one. I'll try to grab a couple of pics by the weekend and post them here.

I want some video of that thing pushing! I've never had to plow snow but I wish I did, another excuse to ride/work the ATV lol. Pushing that size plow has to be a good work out for the machine with any real amount of snow?

Yes, plowing snow is quite fun, beats the heck out of wrestling a snowblower thats for sure. And as lengthy as the winters are in my area, the ATV gets lots of use plowing snow where otherwise it would just sit for 5 months. Sitting for long periods of time isn't good for the engine, fluid, seals, etc. But it isn't that bad of a work out for the Sportsman. Its in Low range the whole time except for when I plow the road. I've got about 100 hours/ 800 miles on the 800 and no signs that the belt is wearing out. We get 250 inches of snow per season on average, and quite a few people around here use their ATV's for the plowing chores. I'll try to get my wife or daughter to shoot a video of the new plow. We just got 15 inches of snow the last three days, and the forecast is for 10 or more inches in the next two days.

What do you call summer in Sheepdog's neck of the woods?

2 weeks of bad sledding!!!

That's a one way plow isn't it? I'm looking forward to the plow report. Anything that works for you will work for the rest of us. I remember playing in 6' of snow in April '70 or '71 in Dafter. It was Easter vacation and the drifts were 14' high. I tunneled under a big hay wagon that I didn't even know was there. That was like a room with a low ceiling and a grass floor. It's unreal how much it snowed back then. It's barely covering the ground down here and I need to get all my stuff mounted before it gets any c-c-c-colder.

That's about right frank....LOL!! Looks like we got about 10 inches overnight. I'll take some before and after pics. Pretty sure I won't be able to get the wife out to use the video camera though. We'll see.

The raised part of the blade is only on one side, but the blade will still pivot both directions just like a Western style plow.

PICS ADDED:

Measured the snow, 12 inches exactly. Took some before pics that I won't bother to post right now since I didn't get to finish the plow job. The clip pins that hold the skids on kept falling off and finally the hoop where the winch hooks for lifting the plow broke, so I had to break out the snowblower. I'll stop at the dealer later today and hopefully they'll have some new hardware for me so I can plow tomorrow. I'll post pics after that.

This was my fourth year for the plow without anything breaking so I can't really complain too much about it. I'm going to replace the clip pins with cotter pins so that should solve that problem.

PICS ADDED:

This is a Polaris 12" rim standing up and you can see that there is a legitimate 12" of snow on the ground.

Last year we had a record of 12 feet over the course of the winter and I plowed 3 driveways and one private road. There were times it took a while to get all them done but it sure was fun!!
