Default Hawkeye 300 Roller mod

I am trying to decide how many Gram would be best for my Hawkeye 300.

Bought the bike new 2007, it came with Alum rims and 23" tries not the stock 22".

I have the yellow 14 grams rollers that came with bike.

I bought (8) 10 gram rollers. I read some post that were writen a while back and they were saying 96 grams with 25" tries.

I am staying with the 23" tries right now, not looking to go bigger for a while!

I am thinking that maybe that 88-grams will be good. ( 6-10 grams roller and 2-14 grams) Any input would be helpful. I know i will lose some top in speed, i am looking for more power getting threw the Mud and up small hills.

Thanks Maddog24

88 grams should be okay, 23 inch tires is like 4 percent tire increase so just figure 5 percent deacrease in roller weights and it should still run great

Hey, Thanks Rickeyparker,

Hey Ricky,

i have a couple more question if your willing to give your advice, i heard i need to torque that 30 mm nut down to 185 ft pounds is that true. the air tool my friend used go up to abt 150 and it spun that nut off on the first try like it want nothing.

I did the carb drill Mod a while back, and after a while i read that i was supposed to drill the same size hole opposite of the Exist hole. What i did was I drilled the Exist hole out the next drill size bigger, plus i cut a little bit of the spring off like I read that every body else was doing.

Question is I really did not notice a quicker throttle response, should I drill a hole opposite of the exist hole or just leave it be.

I did put a Dyno Jet Kit on and a Supertrapp IDS2 muffler on and then i did see a big difference in my take off speed, plus i really like the sound too. I guess i am just a big kid at heart. Side note 12 Disc seem to work best for me!!

Thanks again Maddog24

Dont drill anymore or you could mess it it up, if you just went the next size bigger drill bit then your good to go, Sounds like youve done some good for the Ole Hawkeye, Im presently working on getting my Sportsman to out run a grizzly 700 but im still Studying on what to do.

Maddog be sure and use loctite on that nut when you pu it back on or it will come off, 150 lbs should be fine, On the torque it should be good at 150lbs I didnt even worry about it, I just hit it with the impact till I felt it was okay

Got the Roll Mod complete on the Hawkeye, and took it for a little run before the sun went down. Man what a Big increase it made on my take off speed. Wasn't real sure whether to do this Mod or not, but now I am glade I did it. I did a few other Mods before this one and I am glad I did them first, they helped some but not like this mod did.

The other Mods: Carb Drill Mod, Dyno Jet Kit, Supertrapp Muffler(14-Disc), Nui Air Filter.

Maddog24 (Thanks for every ones help on here)
