nuke wheels and offset question
#1
this is what it says..quot.The 12x7 and 14x7 with the +10mm offset (4+3) wheel is used on the front of all ATVs and the rear of ATVs with Independent Rear Suspension......and....
The 12x7 and the 14x7 -47mm (2+5) offset wheel is used on the rear of ATVs with a Solid Rear Axel....why couldnt you put the wide offset like for the soild axle on indepedent suspension???

A wider offset always puts more stress on components such as ball joints(Front and IRS) and wheel bearings. The nature of the solid axle makes it less susceptible to the added stress, but it still adds stress to the axle(wheel) bearing. How much stress depends on the offset. Also with IRS the added offset affects suspension geometry and puts more load/leverage on the shock/spring. So if your spring isn't adjustable you will notice more sag and it most likely will feel mushy. When I went from stock to 4+2 front and 5+3 rear I had to turn up the springs 2 clicks front and rear. And that isn't near a 2+5 offest.
