Curious, will a SC400 2 stroke beat a 400 ex in a short drag?

Hey Xplor~
I want to make sure I have this straight. All you have for performance mods is a trail pipe and you were guessing about 65mph in 300 feet!??? My machine was only getting 55.4mph in 100 feet!! So either A:my machine is a total dud! Or B:that is one hell of a pipe and I have to get myself one of them!

I have raced my Sport 400 against many 400ex's and smoked em all.
I don't care how long the race is if a 400ex has pretty much the same mods as mine I will destroy them everytime.
Even when my 400 was stock it whooped up on stock and slightly modded 400ex's.
The only atv I have ever lost a drag race to is a Raptor that had every mod ever made, stock raptors can't touch me and banshees aint even worth my effort.

I would love to see a stock 400L even stay within 50ft of a stock Banshee.Oh yeah whoever that guy is that said his scrambler will only do 55mph is ****ing crazy. My stock tblazer does 51MPH, and I know any scrambler will absolutely destroy me.

Yes a 500 4x4 can jump but not like the true sports machines. If you want more than 3-4 feet of air you should consider a sport machine. The scrambler was not setup for big air. It will beat the crap out of you if you repeatedly jump and ride like you would a sport machine. The good point of the machine is when the trail gets muddy or deep snow you leave all your buddies behind and join the utility machines, and smoke all of them.

WIscrambler,

At the time I had only the HPD trail pipe, clutching, airbox mod, reed valves and roller clutch. The last two, if I am right, did not affect top speed. I did stay ahead of the Shee for 300 feet and he slowly pulled away. I got my 65 mph estimate by topping out the speedometer at 60 but still fealt acceleration afterwards, which was proved because the Shee was accelerating also. I do not think I was at 65 mph at the 300 foot mark, but a bit farthur than that. The HPD pipe really worked wonders.

I am getting a GPS this spring so I will find that same nice stretch of dirt road and test speeds again.

And for the other poster: Beat me by 10 or 15 mph...then you can say you killed me. 5 or 6 mph is jogging speed and not considered a "kill".

Hey nauvooguy~
I think you're the crazy one if you think your stock trailblazer will do 51! My uncle has an HPD pipe on his TB and that will do about 51! It will never happen stock! Oh, that was my Scrambler that only did 55mph. A 440ex could only manage 62mph! Maybe it was bad conditions? I don't think so though. My machine is going on 5 years old...maybe it's time to rebuild the top end? Do you think that could be a problem?
