Default Carb adjustment help

Finally got my 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 carb cleaned out and put back on. Started right up but is now idleing way too high. I adjusted the long adjustment screw that hangs down and has a **** on the end, but it did not bring it down much. I assume I need to adjust the screw that I need a small screwdriver to adjust with. Is this correct? I cannot get my hand up there with a screwdriver, any tricks? Thanks

If idle wont come down with adjuster, probably have throttle cable too tight! Adjust slack at throttle first with adjuster on the cable to where slack is about 1/8" slack at thumb throttle, then adjust idle screw on carb. might help

On throttle cable is a rubber sleeve, pull back and you will see plastic locknut, loosen nut, adjust cable to where you FEEL about 1/8" slack at thumb throttle, then tighten locknut.
