Default Steering Play

My 2000 Sportsman 500 has a small of amount of play in the steering. I thought I read here some where it had to do with a plastic piece. Can anyone shed some light on what I need to check or replace. Thanks in advance.

Default Steering Play

Usually its play in the lower plastic steering piece where the post fits in,plus a little tie rod end slack can help exagerate slack. I havent done it,but I think other posters have updated to the bearing type lower fitting, havent checked if stock steering post will work or not?
