I sure could use 4x4 and reverse. I know the suspension on the SC500 4x4 has good travel, but at 571# dry is it too heavy to get air. I don't mean 6 feet vertical, more like 3-4 vertical. Anyone have any pics?

Thanks.

I don't have any pics but i will tell u that u can jump it, it is just a matter of whether the chain will break or not. When u jump, in the air let off the gas or the chain will break. U can stop the chain from breaking by adding another link in it. That should stop it from breaking.

I cant say that I have ever been anywhere near the 6ft mark but I have had my Scram 500 in the air many times. A few of the places I ride has some nice drop of ledges that would probably be in the 4ft range and Ive never had any problems. I no-one has noticed I am a maintenence freak and take good care of my chain and adjustment. I have never broke a chain or had one come off of my Scrambler yet. I dont think I would want to get into that 6ft range I'm 225 lbs and in my opinion that height would land pretty hard. If your looking into some standard trail jumping go get em the Scrambler can take it.

I can't say how much air you can get With a Scrambler but, I know you can get 2-4ft all day long on a Xplorer400 and I've been off some 5-6ft ledges, though usaully not by choice! It survived none the less. Here is a few pics of my old Sportsman getting some air. I did blow the seals on the front shocks on it a few times but, sportsmans are tanks.http://www.geocities.com/mnxplorer400/N06.html

Yes they will jump but not the most gracefuly. I would not want to try more than 3-4 feet. I liken it to riding a watter hipo threw the air. They take a lot out of you after long hard rideing. I only tried a few times to keep up with 300exs on tecnical tight tracks. I could do it for a while but after a few laps i was beet.

Hey guys~
I have done some jumping with my Scrambler, but I am moat likely lighter than most of you(160lbs). I remember one particular jump that I misjudged...the takeoff was a little steeper than I thought! I'm guessing I got about 8 feet of air, and I'm not surprised the suspension bottomed out. My front suspension is getting worn pretty bad now so it will bottom off maybe a 3 foot landing.

I have jumped mine in he 3 to 4 ft. range without any adverse effects. I did over jump a table top one time, missed the down ramp completely, landed on the flat from about 6 ft in the air. I did crack my swing arm. So they will jump the smaller ones you encounter on the trail no problem, the larger ones tend to be hard on them because of the weight.

look in the Honda forum under the post of Websites Everyone and there are some nice pictures of a Scram jumping by workY2K400ex.
