Gas smell on oil dip stick
#15
hopefully you didnt overfill your oil last time you added oil. i did that to my yamamaha 1000watt generator and it smoked like a ****.....and the dip stick smelled like straight gas...i think its better to be a lil low on oil than to overfill...in the case of my generator a seal had to be replaced internally....cost me 160 bucks..hope you get your problem resolved.....plz post what the final outcome was..and how you resolved it......good luck

Is premium 4 the Polaris brand? If not it does not qualify in this sniff off....</end quote></div>
Yeah. That's the old 0W-40. I've had a nasty head cold for over 2 months so my sniffer is probably off a bit too.

I don't have any oil to smell but I can huff some gasoline if that'll help..LOL. J/K
I'd say you're probably ok just keep an eye on the oil level after you get it changed.

Take a real good smell of the gas to see if you can smell oil.........</end quote></div>
Ha Ha! I think that would be mix gas for 2-strokes wouldn't it?
