Non ECM model
The fan switch is on the bottom right rear of the radiator. The wires run straight up the side to the top. It's a 2 pin connector. jump those two wires. Fan should turn on(key on of course) If not, spin it by hand-is it smooth during rotation? Locked up?
Check the switch too, they were known to break wires.
ECM model
Fan is turned on by the thermal sensor on the left side of the cylinder head sending a signal to the ecm. It's a 2 wire connector on a sensor threaded into the head. It's an ohm test to diagnose it. This info is out of a 2005 manual, but i BELIEVE it's the same. Ask Old Polaris Tech maybe he could look it up for you, he's still at a dealership.
I believe this 2nd part is correct, but i quit the dealership before we saw to many heating issues(other than ECM's) Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
