There is a big hunt around hear local news station got a pic of a 17 point buck!!

 

Nice deer compared to what we see and get in WVA. Livin on acorn's and leave's just don't grow em, to me it's all about gettin together with you friend's and havin a good time.

 

I got three does. Two on opening morning about an hour after the season started. The other that afternoon. I didn't get a buck. I seen several shooters but there was one particular buck on my farm I really wanted for the wall but he disappeared when the season started.

Several more deer were taken on my farm by family members. Six more does and two really nice bucks. A very big ten and a twelve.

The second doe season starts Saturday so I'll probably shoot two more does and call it a season. The freezer is pretty well stocked now and all I need is probably two more does so I can make some sausage.

This year I totally disgraced myself, with my new job, I have been traveling so much, I didn't have time to practice with my bow, but I went out anyway, and for the first time in my life, I lost a deer I shot. Every deer before has dropped within sight of my stand, but I hit this one high and in the shoulder, tracked blood for 3 hours, then it dried up and found nothing. Moral of the story, practice,practice,practice, you are never sure of any shot unless you put in the time !!!

I got 2 doe opening day of bow,
The 7 pt I got Thanksgiving day and the 4pt the Friday after that.
My father in-law got the 10pt first day of NY state gun season.
All of these deer were taken withing 300 yards of each other.

South of Rochester, I live in Victor but hunt in the Bristol valley and near Naples,Cohocton.
Thanks,had a good season,we have our freezers full. I'll hunt with the smoke pole Saturday and call it a season.
It's going to be a long winter, can't wait to get on the ice.
