Default 2008 Sportsman 500 HO (carb model)

I guess you can spray with something the spring connection every once in a while to hold off the rust. Odd it seems to be a 08 thing because I though nothing has changed on The 500 H.O since it came out in 98 on the 500 scrambler and 2001 on the Sportsman.</end quote></div>

500 sportsman came out in 96 with the bst34 carb, but I think about 01 or 02 when the Bst 40 came along with the cable adjuster, I usually find the cable laying down under the carb most of the time retainer spring broken and cable usually frozen,BUT only on these two 08 models have I had the flywheel key shear! MIGHT just be a fluke, but the engineer I talked to was well aware of this happening!
