300 Explorer wont start
#1
Went out this afternoon to start the 300 explorer and it would start. The starter is acting up some but I knew for awhile it was but didn't really worry about because the darn thing starts so easy by pulling the pull starter.my bad I should figured that one if these times it wouldn't start with the hand starter.
When I put it away the other day it was running fine so I don't know what got into it. I checked the spark and it is good, also put a new plug in it seem to be getting the plug to wet with fuel as far as I can tell it does't look like it is getting it to wet.
Is their something I am missing? It is a 1996 explorer

you need 3 things to run a motor; spark, compression, and propper fuel/air mix.
it is possible that your not getting enough compression by pull starting. or your fuel mix is off. try spraying some carb cleaner into the body of the carb, its somewhat combustable but not as bad for your engine as ether. and make sure the slide is working in the carb. possibly choke it if its cold out where you live.

That is sort of what I did after almost giving up on getting it started today. I used WD-40 in the carb. I used to use it on my Deisel when it would start.
Now that I got it running again it even starts after it cools down-. Oh well at least it is running.
I do need to get the Starter rebuilt that is next on my list.
