Default Changed out battery on the 700

Battery quit on my 03-700, bought a new gell filled for $100 bucks, they have a 2 yr warranty and were a little cheaper than a wet battery, seeems to turn over better than it has in a long time. What a pain to get the old one out, had to make a strap out of an old tie down andhook to the battery post bolts, then use a come along from the roof of my garage to pull it out,I was lifting the back of the machine with the battery bolts, had to pry and use a hammer around the battery box, a little mud and water will really stick things.

I know dirt makes them stick but did the battery swell up too? I had that happen once. I think it froze when it was run down.

I took mine out a couple of months ago and I had the same problem. I had to pry it out and there was some dirt that was holding it in. You might take it out occasionally and clean it out this might help.

:Yep I replaced mine this past summer too. Went with the AGM type. Mine too was a %$#@& to pull out, was able to screw heavy cable onto the posts to wrestle it out. The bottom of the box was covered in crud.

would have been better if they could have designed it w/ an open concept like the side mounted batteries. or even an open style bottom maybe w/ more holes to drain out the crap better.

Ya that or make the box alittle bigger so you have some wiggle room. Glad thats not a regular part of routine maintainence
