hud????

This has happened twice so I need some help here.
I have replaced bearings and seals and the coil in my hub, but the wires keep getting cut by the inner pole that the coil slides up on.The inner pole will spin around 1/4 of the way this is just enough to cut the wires in the channle,is the outer pole/seal sleeve supost to keep this still?has anybody else had this problem? I have siliconed every part that will sit still,I dont have a torque wrench could this come from the hub nut being to loose?I have a polaris sevice manual but all it says is to silicone coil and outter seal sleeve.Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you clean it up good before you apply the silicone. Also, go to an auto parts store and get silicone ADHESIVE, it has much more strcngth than silicone sealant, and will still seal well. Make sure to let it cure completely before assembly.

Do you mean the inner steel sleeve that is pressed through the strut housing? I had the same trouble with my 89 trail boss. I did an old farmer trick, with the sleeve turned to the wrong place I cleaned it the best I could and applied red Stud & Bearing Loc-Tite and turned the sleeve back & forth to spread the loc-tite between the parts, then with the sleeve turned to the wrong position I used a center punch on the inner sleeve to rough it up a little (punch it in as many spots as you can, I know there is not much space to do this) put on more loc-tite and turn it to where it belongs, you might need to use a punch to drive it around. Do all of those things as quick as possable befor the first drops of loc-tite set up, give time for it to all the loc-tite set up and reassemble everything. The outer sleeve that goes over the coil does nothing to hold the inner sleeve in the housing. Make sure you get the outer sleeve adjusted right, I didnt and the hub wouldnt work most of the time. I fixed my sleeve this way in november and took it apart yesterday to fix a cv boot and fix the hub and the inner sleeve has not moved at all. If you have any questions e-mail me at farmeral@srv.net
