Merry Christmas hobbles!
I'd look at the voltage regulator..
I don't think the ECM has much of anything to do with charging does it?
Also how did you check the stator?

Afternoon HIGHOCTANE
I can't seem to fine a voltage regulator in my manual. I don't know where to look for it on my quad. As for checkin the out put of the stator, I unplugged it and tested the 3 yellow wires for ground then for out put.

You might be right,on that machine. It looks like the 06 500 X2 has a "control module" in addition to the the ECM. Which does the stator plug into?
What was the AC output? I assume you know what t should be if you know to check each leg?
I also assume you chacked voltage at the battey at various RPM to see that it isn't charging?

If you have done all that..you know as much,or,more than me and I would just be guessing with any suggestions.

up date, I just found out that my voltage reg is in the PDM unit. Now I got to learn about that part. I can't seem to find fuse's any where on my quad. I have a new battery and it is at full charge. I can run the quad for 1 1/2 hours before the low battery light comes on. The stator is charging but it is not getting to the battery. I am trying now to trace down where the stator plugs into. I need better glasses....

Look up the machine on the Polaris parts site,go to "electrical" it will give you and idea of what you are looking for. Like I said above, they call it a "control module"
Good luck. Let us know what ya find.

Yep. in my book they call it a PDM (power Distribution Module) but on the Polaris site it's ( #15 4011240 Module, Controller 1)
