Scrambler is bleeding!
I have a 97 scrambler that is bleeding fuel from the exhaust manifold and will not start. But it only bleeds when i try to start it. I have taken the carb out and cleaned the crap out of it with no help. The carb is of the same design but it is out of a 01 sportsman. Everything hooked up right and it ran good for a while...now its going nowhere. Can anybody help me? Thank s alot!

sounds like the choke circuit is stuck open. the way choke works on these is really a "fuel enricher" system. in layman's terms it dumps more fuel into the crankcase. your plug could also be slightly fouled because the pilot jet is too big in the carb. it ran fine for a while until the plug got fouled now it wont start. have you tried spraying carb cleaner in the intake to see if it will fire off?. try turning the fuel supply off then try to start it.
there is also a drain the bottom of the crankcase. if there is too much fuel in the bottom then it wont fire off either.
(btw im assuming these are the 400 2-stroker motors your talking about)
lots of possibilities.
