I just bought an atv and the guy says it is a 96 polaris 425 magnum 2x4. When I contacted the dealer to ask where to find the vin I was told to look under the left side of the frame. After spending time under the thing I noticed that there is letters and #'s under the seat containing 17 letters and numbers. If I post them could someone tell me exactly what I have?

Any help will be appreciated in advance as I am new to atv's.

 

Don't post it. The whole world doesn't need to know it. The tenth digit is the year code. Look it up here.

Thanks for the info and welcome. is there a way to find out the engine in it because i did a compression test on it and it only has 50 pounds of pressure but when i add a tablespoon of oil i get around 100. So i though that it may be best to get it rebuilt.
