#1
I (the dad) want to buy a quad for my son(age 14)a trail blazer. My son (Eric) wants a honda 250ex he thinks shifting is cool and the automatics are for girls and sissies. Well I (the dad) own a 95' scrambler 400 and is a die hard POLARIS fan he on the other hand is a honda fan. Price comparision the honda is about $900.00 more... need help!!! to convince (Eric) to go with the POLARIS

It depends on if he wants somthing that has great hop-up capibility, somthing that will climb a hill with the best of them(not the sand hills though), somthing that will jump further without bottoming out.If thats what he wants, then he needs the t-blazer.Im serious about the hill climbing thing, cause everyone laughed at me when I got a aoutomatic(and Polaris at that) then we went to the hills and I was the one at the top when they were at the bottom=)

What we found out was that when we switched the kids to the Polaris (from an auto shift) they rode much faster and did better on the hills. A lot of the magazines and such try to tell you that real riders go faster when they can shift...wrong! I'm riding faster than ever now that I am shiftless.

You could always try the 'because I said so' argument, although it rarely works with kids these days.
Do you have any friends that drive both? Actually driving down the trail on both machines may convince him otherwise. Especially if you point out that he could have $900 worth of mods for the same money as the stock Honda.

Hey GrizDick~
I mean Rick...exactly what are all those repairs you're talking about? Are you one of those typical Yamahonda owners that assumes a Polaris is going to break down every ride? If you've ever ridden with Polaris machines insted of just listening to what other people say, you'd find out they are a lot more reliable than you think! And when you're only talking about a $3400 machine to start with, $900 is a LOT of money(at least 25% of the value).
