I don't want to sound biased and say if you set yourself up right you can smoke T-cats all day long(but you could)..so I'll say....
.... that depends on alot of factors...stock for stock? That aside I think you would do alot better with some good 26" tires, especially with no clutch work..but NOT THE STOCK TIRES..you'll sit and spin while the CAT says bye bye...
Stock for stock I think it depends on how long the race is,the longer the better for you, from about 40mph up I don't think anything except the maybe Renegade can run with 850..and even it has been beaten by a stock 850 from a 30 mph roll..

It would be interesting to see the weight differences between a 850 and 1000 CAT. If...I were running...then I would have the AWD system engaged at the start to help with tire slippage. Of course...unless the race rules did not allow it.

Claimed dry weight of 716 for the T-Cat..yes AWD is a good idea if allowed, but even in AWD the stock Terriblethons will roast under the power, especially on grass..

That is also one problem ,i always run winchs and brushgaurds etc. and most of the guys i would race against dont add extras. That is also the reason i am always helping them on the trails LOL. I would probaly at least put the stock tires and wheels on and hope there is some traction on the start. ANY HELPFUL MODS APPRECIATED

My dealer said they can light up all four tires on the T cat on pavement.
The best way to beat one IMO is to out smart them. If traction is bad or marginal get THEM to spin on the start and you take off easy enough to spin very little.Ease into the throttle !LOL! I did this once when I raced a mustang with my old 57 chev. wagon! ( on gravel road) He never saw anything but dust!

I would use mudlites and hope he is stock. If not add a pipe and air filter. This is only for grass. At a real drag on tar, us the stock tires because they may be lighter. May have to check that though because regular 26" mudlites are pretty light.

Even if power is equal, weight is equal, the Tcat will have the advantage in tires and wheels. Anyone that goes to drags will tell you that. The guys racing the Kawi's always used the stock tires and wheels because they are so light. That's the advantage the 950 will have. It comes with, and can fit 12" rims. 14's are almost double the weight.

Also, take the brushguards off. After that take them out to a woods trail and see if they can keep up.

Guys i would like to see the outcome of the 2 machines in their stock form with no mods at all just to see the outcome , i don't know very much about either of these machines ; but it would be interesting to see how they do in stock form as this would be a fair comparison !........
