01 sportsman shuts off

Default 01 sportsman shuts off

Yep, I pulled the plug and grounded it against the case and NADA, no spark. It is crazy. I will be ordering a stator today I guess. Just sad, I'm gonna be riding today and it wont be on my Polaris, instead it will be on the KingQuad. Oh well, I'll keep you posted.

I would be looking at the ignition switch and the kill switch before the staor

Ignition switch is new and I have dissconnected the black wire from the kill switch to the CDI and it still stopped....Just some extra info.

Well today I pulled the stator and shipping it tomorow to be rewound, I'll tell ya what happens when I get it back.

Default 01 sportsman shuts off

I know this will sound dumb, so I'll say it this way...

The FIRST thing I would do before I spend ANY money on my ATV related to a problem with running or starting or dying is disconnect the black wire from the reverse speed limiter and see what happens. Maybe this does not apply to your model or problem or whatever... but I just had to say it.

Good luck with the stator.

I totally agree with this!That black box CAN cause all sorts of funny things to happen

Is that the black wire on the CDI, if so I have allready done that. if not where is it???

no it is the rev limiter it has 3 wires coming out

Where wouldit be on the wheeleritself?? I cant find one on the quad or the wiring diagram.
