#1
Ok my brother loaned me his 325 trail boss and it was in rough shape seeing as he had not rode it in a long while he gave it to me with a dead and i mean dead battery well that didnt bother me i took it out anyhow and during the daytime the light came on but at night it wouldnt and hasnt since I am replacing the battery tomorrow before I go back out but shouldnt the stater run the headlight even if the battery is dead? and will replacing the battery cure my idle and headlight woes?

the chain is tightened by spinning the carrier bearing housing. you need to compress the swing arm so that the top of the rear sprocket and the front sprocket are level with each other. there should be two bolts on the rear of the axle. if your looking at the axle they are right there. loosen those up. then take a big pipe wrench and spin the top of the carrier bearing housing to the front of the machine. tighten the two bolts up and release the swing arm.
dont run the machine very long with a dead battery. it will try to push all the voltage from the stator to the electronics. not good on those things. will normally blow out all the bulbs on the machine.
