Massachusetts ATV insurance rate
I got a price to insure the two XPs and was disappointed but not surprised at how much it cost. I can't remember the company my agent was quoting but it included theft, liability, property damage and collision. The cost for both was $900 plus.
I was wondering how that compares in coverage and expense to what others are paying? At almost a G note I am inclined not to do it, any thoughts on that also? I am thinking I may be better off using the money to pay for a million dollar umbrella policy.
Should be picking the twins up in less than 8 hours.... yahoooo
thanks in advance for info!

Check with Progressive. I have them with my road bike. All insurance will very from state to state. In NC they will give you insurance points for any tickets and accidents. If you stay under $1200 damage per accident they will not raise your rates. If you have a claim over $1200 they will increase your rates. Also keeps your powersports insurance seperate from your auto. In NC if you have a claim on the powersport, it will not raise your auto insurance. This might very from state to state also. Check with a local agent. It's a free call

I have all my insurance with a fairly good size agency. They said the provided quote was from the only company they do business with that covers ATV's. I heard it wasn't long ago you could not even get ATV insurance in Mass. This created problems with the states that require insurance coverage. I believe NH has an exemption for Mass ATV's, I believe it is required in VT and it will also prevent me from riding into Canada as they also require it with no exceptions. I don't even care about the collision but theft of 2 XPs would hurt and liability insurance would be good. I'll check with Progressive and perhaps someone in Mass has already gone through this.
thanks
