Default intro

I've been checking this forum out a bit and there is a lot of great info here -Thank you guys!

I've been thinking of purchasing a 850xp, but I'm not sure on a few things and was wondering if anyone would have some input?

Is the power steering worth the extra $$$??? I want the Browning edition, but I was told it doesn't come with EPS. If Polaris doesn't offer it on that, can it be that good?

What is the best track system and plow? I know the Prospector is more $ than the tatou, but are they better....I don't want to drop the $ and regret it.

Will it be OK for cold starting?

I also want brush guards and a windshield.

I'm in Ontario and will use it for plowing my backyark ice rink, ice fishing, camping, fishing, and of course trial riding!

Any input is appreciated.

Cheers, Brian

When it comes to tracks, feel confident that they are all pretty good products. For a heavy machine, I'd go the tracks with the largest surface area for floatation. Tatou 4S, Commander Treks, or the all season Prospector would be great choices.

What ever your choice, you'll have fun.

For further first hand info, try post same question on
www.trackshare.com because there are a lot of track users there. Its a Manitoba web site.

welcome to the forum. being a efi model it'll start real good in the cold. from what were reading about the new xp's the steering seems to be real good, but as far tracks goes im sure the it would turn harder but mongrol is the best to ask the differnce between the tracks and wheels or least on his 2 bikes he has.

Welcome hooked up!
My XP starts cold just fine. No problems.
As far as the tracksystems go, I'll leave that to others to answer! I would think that EPS would be very nice to have with tracks IMO!
I have read that the EPS system works very well.
Again, welcome to the forum!

Thanks a lot guys.
I think I'm leaning towards the EPS, but I'm afraid my wife might like it too much

I'll check out those other sites for the tracks and brushguards.

The glacier II plow looks good, but I read somewhere that it was junk. Hey rancher55 I notice you've got the Glacier -what do you think of it?

Thanks again.

The only things that you need to do that I have found (So far) is that you need to remove the bar you hook the winch to and get some HD skid shoes (they wear out fast!)
