Are those the ones on ebay for like a hundred bucks? If so they are total junk.

Default winch question

They are junk. My uncle bought the 4000 lb one on ebay and put it on his bike. Broke the first time out. He tried to pull himself out of a mud pit and the gears shredded. Sent it back to the company and they said he tried lifting too much weight. He told them it was a four wheeler pulling out of the mud and they told him that when pulling out of the mud, the weight can be way over 4000 lbs. They would not warranty the unit and told him it would be a 125 fix. He only paid 130 for the winch.

I pulled him out with my 2500lb polaris winch after his broke with no problems.

when it comes to a winch, spend the extra money for a good brand name. nothing worse than needing it and come to find it doesn't work well or doesn't work at all.

Default winch question

I used my Warn 2500 several times on easy pulls out of mud and snow but pulling down a railroad tie retaining wall the cable broke, now the cable is shorter but the winch still works like new.
