Default Went under the knife

Well some of you guys know I was having back surgery. Hdoperator and I talked about it a little. Well I went in on 1/9 at 745 am and they messed around the whole morning taking me from room to room and what not. Said they were behind. My O.R time was 9:45 and they finally took me at about noon. Well the next thing I know I'm waking up at 2:30 and feeling like I got run over at the waist. I had a microdiscectomy on two levels at L3-4, and L4-5. Well anyway I get shot up with some Fentanyl and all it did was take away my headache didnt touch my back and leg pain at all but I ate some crackers, drank some pop and after a lot of begging and pleading I was in my pickup and heading home at 8 pm that night. I'm doing a lot better than I thought I would. I hurt pretty bad but Im getting around, just very slowly. Really glad I'm not bedridden. My hip hurts really bad I dont know if they did something to it moving me around or if I did something to it trying not to use my back muscles. Dont know how long I'll be down but I dont think it will be much past Spring. Thank god for my wife, she has taken excellent care of me and I even got a bell. I took it off my dogs hunting collar as a joke and I think I'll be buying the dog a new one before next season cause I havent seen it lately. At least it isnt where the sun dont shine cause she told me I was gonna wake up with it there. HaHa Well anyway I figured I'd give ya a report and let you know how things turned out.

HdOpererator- I tryed to PM you but couldnt. I think it's cause you dont have a profile page but I'm not sure. If anyone knows if I'm doing something wrong will you let me know how to do it. Thanks!!

Good to hear you're recovering. Time to upgrade to the XP. Takes a lot less effort to drive one.

Glad your doing ok.The little bit of pain now is a probably small compared to what could have been experienced had you not gotten the surgery.

Hey Rowe! Glad you're back! I meant to log on here and wish you luck before your surgery but the 9th slipped up on me. I did however manage (along with a few others here) to wish you good luck on the day of surgery even though you weren't here to log on....http://forums.atvconnection.co...58327&highlight_key=y

Hang in there my fiend the pain gets better. If the surgery helps you as much as it has helped me you'll have no regrets!
I'm not sure why you couldn't PM me , I'll check it out, I'm pretty sure I've gotten PM's before? On that note...a quick thanks to the mods for letting these "off topics" to stay in the Polaris forums.

Get well soon Rowe the summer riding season is approaching!
If ya have any questions give me a shout.

Hey ROWE!

Glad to hear you made it through okay. I always get a little annoyed with the DOCS that just make so "Light" of out patient surgeries (I know you stayed abit longer that day though). JUST REMEMBER, each DAY is better then the NEXT! Keep on your dosing schedule with the pain meds, and if the DOC's rules are to get up and move then I would encourage it. I think that is what helped me the most post-surgery is getting up so often and walking the floor like every so many times on an hour/two.

Get better and now you have the justification to BUY that rear cargo box with BACKREST or just the Lock&Ride one if you didn't haven't got them already, LOL.

Cheers,

R'
