They all lose HP at the wheels CVT or Manual. A 32hp 500 Suzuki Vinson 5 speed manual can not beat a 35hp 500 Sportsman CVT or 500 Outlander in a drag race.

Yep..generally speaking a manual should loose a little less that a hydraulically coupled auto..a CVT is more like a manual though as it is a mechanical type power transfer as long as the belt is not slipping..

Yep..about 30%-35% seems to be average for a CVT machine....for instance Can-AM..61.7 at the crank and 43.4 peak at the wheels...Brute 750 ~50 at the crank and 31 peak at the wheels.

I'm iterested to see the numbers for the XP and see if we can tell if claims of a more efficient driveline are true..anyone have any dyno numbers for a Polaris Sportsman as a base line for driveline losses?</end quote></div>

The XP numbers will be here as soon as I get it back!

WOLF1

Sorry if this was already mentioned but what part are you waiting for for your XP that they claim won't be in until Feb?

Its a stator plate or something like that. My attention span was greatly impaired when I heard February.

On the brighter side, me and the GM have had our chat and I should have it back on Thursday. They found the part I need at another dealer somewhere and are FedEx'ing it in.
