Engine stops, then won't start, then will start...

I'm debating that. I will definitly run it this way for a while. My only reservation is that I am considering getting a "pull-behind" mower for my wife to pull behind the quad this summer while I'm at work, in which case I have some concern about her safety. She is one of those people that can't drive a three wheeler because her brain won't let her turn (if you have ever driven a three wheeler you probably know what I mean). I am worried that she might hit reverse too hard and not think fast enough to let off the juice if it gets funky on her. I can just see her with the mower wedged up against the house, rear wheels of the ATV up in the air, her face planted in the dirt in front of the ATV.
Hmmm... maybe that IS a good idea (just kidding)
If I get tired of holding the override button I can always design some sort of contraption to hold it down for me. I've seen a thread somewhere about that on here I think.

Is the diagram in this thread correct? Is number 41 really the rev limitor or the CDI box? I am so confused on where the hell this switch is! I unplugged the black wire on the box show as number 41 and now my key switch will not turn the quad off! I have a feeling this is not the rev limiter switch!!

You unplugged kill switch wire to cdi unit! Try the wire on the module above cdi!

That's why I am so confused .. there is no other box above the CDI unit! I see a box mounted on the inside of the front grill .. but that has 4 wires comming out .. eveything I read says a box with three wires! I believe my problem is the cam but just want to be sure before tearing it apart!

Thats the reg/rectifier you are referring to at front of machine! Should have rev limiter module,UNLESS some one has messed with it! Also on cam just check center lobe for wear and valves are adjusted to .006 intake and exhaust. SURE not a carb problem also????

Well I went and tore it apart to get to the vale cover and much to my surprise and happieness the cam shaft looks fine!! center lob is fine and it is a loose .006 gap! I am semi celebrating cuz it's not a $400 fix .. but still not sure what it is! Carb is my next culprit .. even though this rev limitor thing still has me baffelled.. it is ther because before it started acting up the yellow switch did it's job! Just have no idea wht I am looking for and it does not seem to be on any wireing diagram aor sevice manual have see. Very frustrating! If someone hads a pic or any better idea where what I am looking for my email is sstanchak@stny.rr.com
thanks,
steve
