500 HO CAMSHAFT
#1
Im just wondering is there is a performance camshaft for the 500 HO Available. I know the stock one is better still than the 500 non HO bikes.
The exhaust lob on mine is just perfectly round so it needs replacement anyways.

thanks

The 500 H.O cam has a higher duration than the non H.O 500 motor . I don,t think they make a hotter one.
Did you stay with 0W-40, I hear of people with premature cam issues who use 5W or 10W weight oils.
It has something to due with the tight tolerances of the oil pump, it needs a thinner 0W or 2W(now) to get oil flowing quickly to the motor,s cam.

I think water got in my oil, its snorkeled and stuff but I think plug got lost out of my air box....
I looked last night at the aaen performance pt# ATA30079 I guess it has a bigger lift and longer duration. I email them for some more info.
Thanks

On this site, 500 HP Stages
they do have a longer duration cam without the need of a higher compression piston with there stage 3.
I always thought a racing piston was need for the longer duration than stock cams.
