I've heard of people reaching speeds of over 45 MPH with the 850. Its nuts.</end quote></div>
I'm wondering if that post was serious or not? My 95 400 will hit 45 WAY before it is at top speed. I have never had the guts (or the long straight stretch) to see what it's top speed is, but it is more than 45. I don't know much about ATV's... is 45 fast for an ATV (or a 400)? It didn't shock me, but I am used to my motorcycle, which can get to 100 before I even notice I'm speeding.

Government limits atv's to go past 80mph.Your 400,which I have the same motor in my quad should run low to mid 50's.

Once I start getting close to 50, it's time to go get the car.
I can't think of anywhere in the world that both:
a) requires a quad to get there (car can't do it) and
b) I need to be there so quickly that I need to go faster than 50 mph.
One or the other, sure, but never both.
