New battery
#1
I need a new battery for my 2004.5 700 efi. I will not pay the polaris price, that's just rediculous. Anybody know what wal-mart battery is compatible? Or any other battery that is a good deal?

Spend the extra $ and get an AGM battery. I think I spent $120 at carquest and you get more CCA's and because it it gell instead of liquid it has a lot better resistance to vibrations and is all around a better choice.

Walmart will give you $10 for the old battery, you just buy a battery with the same or closest dimensions as possible that will work with the ATVs battery craddle.
Polaris "does not" make batteries,so the equivalent battery is made by many other battery suppliers.

I'm not sure how the battery is mounted on that model, but I think if it is mounted at any angle, a gel battery is required. I thought though that Polaris has most of their batteries mounted in the upright position.?????

I never seen a battery mounted on a angle? I think it would be a bad idea if the person does not replace it with a gel.
Wal-mart does sell more expensive batteries for people who winter ride and plow. My friend paid $120 Canadian (Most sell for$40-80) for his, but it was a Gel model and had a higher (AH)Amp Hour rating and 310 (CCA) "cold cranking Amps" ,typical CCA ratings are 200-250 CCA.
