Heelclicker killed my primary clutch!
#1
The dealer has my sporty tore apart for major engine repairs and told me my primary clutch was shot as well, so i took a drive up to inspect it. The clutch sheeves have grooves wore into them , you could cut your finger they are so bad. My dealer says he will not install a Heelclicker for this reason. So I need to purchase a new primary( SURE AM GLADE I GOT COUGHT UP IN THE HEELCLICKER FAZE 2 YEARS AGO) the primary is 450.00 or I can buy a upgrade kit for 475.00 the inchudes a EBS primary, ebs belt and secondary. I do not have ebs now so this will truely be a upgrade for me. He told me he has seen this condition on many Heelclickers, so if you guys are running them INSPECT your primary before it shreds your belt..

WHAT BELT WERE YOU RUNNING?Get a used clutch off Ebay and put the spring and weights you need in it.ANY yr non EBS clutch will work.
I ran a Dayco bekllt once and it cut my clutch too.Dont think just a Heelclicker kit would do that.

It was a oem polaris belt.. I did use a dayco belt a few years ago and was not impressed it lasted about 2 weeks.I think I'll try the ebs, I hear it has better low end grab.I have been through about 6 belts in 3 years(plowing seasons) The dealer did not have a good word to say about the h/c kit.

we had this go around a while ago and we both agreed that it was a waste on the H/c. just go check out the dalton. i would go w/ ebs as well as i think you will like it. imo.

Since we are on the subject. If you are not looking to upgrade your stock clutch but just the secondary spring, which one is it? Where and what make again? And where is the chart to follow if you will for knowing what kind of spring you need for clutch engagement when it comes to TIRE size and type?
Me I am thinking of going 27inch sometime soon when I can make up my mind on what I want. -- LOL

Stendori, did you go with the whole kit or just the primary spring? Don't quote me on this but I just may leave the clutches stock, I told the dealer to remove the Dyno-Jet kit wile it was apart. It seemed to start alot better in the stock form..I have beat the heck out of this thing, they are installing 95% new motor parts , new clutches and belt I dont think i want to sacrafice my reliabilty anymore.I have beat this bike for almost 4 years now, most of you guys have traded up to biger and better,I just might not have to with all the new parts..I just keep asking myself did I kill this bike or should I have................

After looking at your mods you killed your clutch. The big tires take more torque to pull. You would have savedthe clutch by just lightening up on the secondary and a set of heavier weights to pull the 27 in tires.

I never said I was easy on it. I thought it was neat the dealer knew all about the famous H/C and seen the same problems other machines ..I did not say anything about any clutch mods or problems nor did I tell him a H/C was even installed.. Will I notice any low end diference with the ebs clutch or is it all brakeing?
