Newbe Checking in

Just checking in to say thanks, I found this Forum when I was searching for info about Polaris ATV's. I got the bug from a nephew who had a '06 polaris 500 x2 with prospector tracks. He was able to go into areas that I could only dream about.
So down to the Polaris dealership I went. Came home with a '08 700 X2 with a set of Prospector Pro S tracks and a 3500lb Polaris winch.
I've spent the last month with a grin from ear to ear. I may not be able to do 70mph with my hair on fire like the snowmobilers but when they are stuck in the snow it is all I can do to contain my laughter at their predicament. ("Just Smile and Wave Boys, Smile and Wave")
I've put over 200 actual miles on my machine in the last 4 weeks and haven't been stuck yet. I've been on everything from groomed trails to 3 feet of powder and the machine just keeps charging along. I'm sure the day will come when I bury the machine but hopefully I won't be in a predicament that the winch can't handle.
Thanks

Haven't been stuck yet. I've spun down into the snow going up some really steep hills (40% slopes), but I just put it reverse and backed on down to a flat area; hammerd on the throttle and charged on up the hill. The tracks are AWESOME!!!
As far as jumping goes I honestly haven't got the gut's up yet to lauch 12K through the air. The 700 with tracks is heavy (adds 65lbs per corner) but it still feels nimble on any packed trails. In the deep stuff it just charges on through leaving a blizzard behind.

Welcome to the site WFOIdaho. If I lived where you do, (I'm taking a wild guess... Idaho LOL) I'd be having a set of those tracks on my quad too. Beautiful country... but WAY to much snow in "them there hills". LOL

Congratulations on becoming a "Trackie". Hard to explain tracks to the non believers so we'll just have to enjoy them. You'll find after a while that you have to work on getting stuck. 7-8 ft of snow is no problem.

Welcome WFOIdaho!
I don't think there are to many of us Idahoans using this forum.
The tracks sound like fun but they are to expensive for me right now! maybe a year or so down the road! LOL!
I'm in N. Central Id., how about you?
