wat happens when u only have high? and no low gear</end quote></div>
With a SCrambler they were not intended to be used as pulling machines or deep mudders.Use it as it is made for and you will get good service out of a belt.
I change mine every coulpe yrs or when I find a good deal on them.I save the old belt for a spare.I have never blew a belt on a Scrambler but have on my old Magnum and Sportsman by getting them into bind and doing things I shouldnt have.

When the bike is idling is there a differense if you has it in neutral or park? I have read that you must "warm up" the belt before using the bike in cold weather.</end quote></div>
No difference to the belts..either is fine...as long as it isn't in a drive gear...
Also the belt will warm up in neutral or park as it is turning...in cold weather after it idles awhile in park you can rev it a little a few times to further warm/loosen the belt up before putting a load on it...then drive easy for the first 5-10 minutes..that way the belt and engine oil both come up in temp..engine oil is the most important warm up requirement IMO.
If you put it in gear the belt stops turning and the drive clutch spins with the belt stationary...

side note: one little diference from the midsize 300/400HO to the full size Sportsmans is the clutch setup...the full size machines have primary and secondary clutches with the belt loose during idle. Where as the midsize machines have a primary, secondary AND starter clutch where the belt is always under slight tension, similar to the Yamaha and Suzuki clutch setups

So there`s no difference in neutral or park? And if I let the bike idle on the trail it should be in park? (or neutral and handbrake on)</end quote></div>
Yep..you got it. Everytime I stop for more than a few seconds I put it in nuetral,or park....and on a slope set the brake even in park...saves wear and tear on the park components and is safer IMO...in park only the rear tires are holding the machine...
