I have a 1998 Sportsman 500 that has what I think to be a polaris front tube bumper. Now my issue is that i'm not sure where to find the correct winch plate that will work with that bumper. My local dealer isnt much of a help. they always tell me I need to bring the machine in for sercive whenever i ask about parts...

If someone can point me in the direction of the proper winch mount that would be great!

Also if the search function was working I would have used it....

 

I read that on some models, the bumper acts as a winch mount? So the winch actually bolts to the bumper?

 

ya if you get a bumper you can get it with the winch mount and the fairlead. but it appers you only have the bumper. so either your gon have to get a differnt bumper, or if you have a welder make a mount and a fairlead mount.

I just bought a harbor freight winch for $55 and welded the mounting plate behind the same bumper. Looks and works awesome.

On that year Sportsman I think the Winch mount is below the bumper.............If I remember correctly the guy from work has the same year and I think his is mounted low at the front......Caper..........
